Restoring from a Local Backup:
Open QuickBooks: Launch the QuickBooks desktop application on your computer.
Go to File > Open or Restore Company: This opens the Company File Operations window.
Select Restore a backup copy: Choose this option to initiate the restoration from your saved backup file.
Choose Local Backup: Select this option if your backup is stored on your computer or a local network drive.
Browse for your backup file: Navigate to the folder where you saved your backup file and select it.
Choose a location for the restored file: Decide where you want the restored company file to be saved. Avoid overwriting your existing file by choosing a different folder or renaming the restored file.
Click Open: This begins the restoration process. Depending on the file size, it may take a few minutes.
Open the restored company file: Once the restoration is complete, QuickBooks will automatically open the restored company file. You can now verify your data and continue working.
Restoring from an Online Backup (QuickBooks Online Advanced):
Sign in to your QuickBooks Online Advanced account: Go to the Intuit website and log in to your QuickBooks Online Advanced account.
Go to Settings > Back up company: This opens the Backup and Restore page within your account settings.
Click Restore: Locate the backup you want to restore and click the "Restore" button next to it.
Choose a date and time: Select the specific date and time of the backup you want to restore from.
Verify and Restore: Carefully review the information and click "Restore" to begin the process.
Wait for completion: The restoration might take some time depending on the data size.
Refresh and verify: Once complete, click "Refresh" on the Backup and Restore page. Your restored company file should now be available.
