Really is not that the matches have been worse, it's the player mentality that have changed. Coupled with a slew of tools for learning and
WOW TBC Gold assistance. People wanting to take shortcuts rather than learning, leading them to feel like it is a grind when they can't just jump into the rewards. People consume content a great deal quicker and use a lot of crutches to do it. They bypass the majority of the exploring and trial and error parts, which is exactly what they remember most fondly from the old games, in favor of optimization and min/max from the return. A whole lot of optimization isn't even about doing things better, but eliminating things together. Which also leads to people complaining that they"feel pressured" doing things because they're so used to having the ability to bypass it.
I 100% believe this was the case in Hearthstone. I haven't played in a very long time but back when they started incorporating cards would be some brand new broken strategy everyone had to play Blizzard sat about for weeks stating everything was fine before waiting to release some half-assed counter in another expansion. When it failed that they finally delivered a balance patch to repair the initial matter. I am positive people stuck around simply to see whether the new cards would alter anything the player numbers were fostered.
Agree. I really do think there is an element of this devs tricking themselves into believing their"methods" and content are kind of fun. They definitely"overdesign", starting with the rewards and working backwards from there instead of really thinking if the systems themselves are enjoyable.
However, in BFA, everyone understood Azerite armor was crap in beta and blizzard said dont worry we have fixes in store. In Beta shamans were dreadful and had many bugs and problems that weren't addressed. The initial tier comes around and instead of them fixing shamans they say the first patch Shamans will probably be fixed. So they made bug fixing shamans a content feature in the first major patch in an effort to
cheap TBC Classic Gold keep people subscribed or deliver them back to the match.
