NBA 2K21 is getting updated for both next-gen and current-gen platforms now, in the form of next-gen Patch 6 (version 1.08) and
NBA 2K21 MT current-gen Patch 8 (version 1.10). And, since both downloads are rather similar to one another, we've decided to squeeze both variations of the patch notes into a single pole.
MyTeam exploits are getting patched across the board, along with a couple of likeness updates that are included for good measure. The patch notes arrive courtesy of their hottest Courtside Report website posts.
To put it differently, despite the sheer girth of those NBA 2K21 upgrades, the present - and - next-gen versions of the game are not changing very much now. It certainly helps to get player likenesses upgraded for accurate simulation purposes, but there's not much here that many community members would consider gameplay-defining. The MyTeam alterations are alright too, however, when there are so many other obvious flaws which could stand to be patched in both variations of this game, it is somewhat insulting to observe that Visual Concepts is able to quickly run out fixes for a mode so strongly focused on compensated microtransactions instead.
After all, in the hours since the next-gen update's release especially, it seems like very little was done to address the main shortcomings that players have been inquiring about. If you're tired of staring at Zion's face every time you boot the game or go back to the menu, then you'll still be doing that even after this patch is installed. And, given that there are little to no gameplay-focused alterations recorded here, we imagine a number of those longstanding cheese approaches are still current.
