December prospects Weather from dgfjgh's blog

Southwest Otago The Waipahi and Pomahaka have often been discoloured in Buy Runescape Gold recent weeks. Competitors in the famous Waipahi Gold Medal fishing competition braved snow and rising waters on November 5. Unfortunately, as the snow melted the river became very discoloured. The only fish to be weighed in was caught by Mike Weddell.

December prospects Weather patterns will hopefully stabilise and as temperatures rise aquatic and terrestrial insect activity should rise. Fly fishing on our high country waters will be more worthwhile. In still waters try damsel and dragon fly nymphs. Dry fly anglers should start with brown beetle imitations and then move to green beetle and blue humpy flies as summer progresses.

This is a great month for spin fishing for large searun fish in the lower Taieri as these fish migrate upstream. Banana toby lures and Rapalas often work well. AGM The Otago Fish Game Council’s AGM will be held at our boardroom in Dunedin, on November 29 at 3pm.Manager The 2011 Game bird hunting season is almost upon us and by now most hunters will be keenly awaiting opening day on the 7th May.

The prospects for the season look better than last year as a result of a wonderful breeding season with rain coming at the right time during the summer months to maintain growth on crops and pasture. These rains have also helped disperse waterfowl throughout the region and lessened any impacts they may have had on farms with reduced concentrations around major water bodies.
