"As
a designer, I've always been drawn to evening wear, and we started
really noticing a few years ago that a lot of women were buying our
separates to wear in place of gowns," explained the designer, "or
emailing us requesting custom pieces for their bridesmaids. On top of
that, every single one of my engage friends has asked me to design their
uk prom dresses. From there, it was just a natural
evolution. Early on in our collection we sold a long, mullet hem black
silk dress to Shopbop that I thought was the perfect easy summer dress
to wear with sneakers. Imagine my surprise when I read the reviews on it

Her favorite part about designing dress? The connection between the dress and girls.

neckline without having to do the typical sweetheart, strapless look. It
also excites me to my very core that capes are finally making a
well-deserved comeback." The designer continued, "you should do whatever
you want and look however you feel best reflects you. Our girl is the
one who chooses to wear an amazing ruffled crop top and ball gown skirt
in place of a poufy princess dress."
"Make sure that whatever you choose to wear is something you can see yourself having a good time in," explained the designer. "Your party should be the most fun, romantic, and exciting day of your life! Don't waste it being uncomfortable." When it comes to shopping, the designer urges girls to stay true to their own vision. "It's so important not to let your mother, sister, grandmother, the sales assistant, or Instagram peer pressure you into wearing anything that doesn't make you totally and completely happy. I like to say that some women dress for women, some women dress for men, and the bravest women dress for themselves. You should always strive to be that brave woman."
