For a bored, over-worked technical, a weekend spent in nature's lap is just the ticket to rejuvenation and replenished vigor. Araku area in Visakhapatnam (Vizag) turned out to be the right choice for me. Being one of the closest hills - stations from Hyderabad, it had the right amount of nature's attractions to laze off and enough interesting places for someone to don your Tourist pants and check them out. First and foremost, the train journey from Vizag to Araku is valley picture-perfect with stunning green hills, mysterious tunnels and streams.

You are bound to feel super-lazy:

If you are from a noisy city and you just stepped down from the train, chances are you might end up sleeping actually before your cab-driver takes you to the resort. Just before you get to the actual station, because the friendly locals in train told you that stop is much nearer for your resorts. To a lot of working people, living in a city means living a nonstop, busy life spending so much time, partying even harder on weekends and feeling like you are spending most part of your life in the irritating traffic. In case you are like that, and survived the cab-ride to resort, you will most definitely want to doze off the moment you hit the sack in your beautiful room and leave the sight-seeing to the real tourists.

Right delicacies are not on the menu:

Without a doubt, you are mistaken if you order from the menu and whine about the not-so-great food. Because what's delicious here is not on the menu, the trick is to find your current hotel manager or cook and ask him if so-and -so food can be geared up on special order. You'll then be re-directed to a local tribal who'll tell you what ingredients you will require, which will then be cooked properly by him right in front of your eyes using coals and makeshift stove. These are the delicacies you don't want to miss, not the menu items. and what's more, the cost of this isn't more than motel food.

Locals are united in their money-making:

Right from the time you get down from the station to the seemingly friendly house-keeper in your own resort, everybody is united in making your visit the maximum profitable for them. Do not be surprised if you're in a very secluded resort with only the Hotel Desk to your rescue and they refuse to tell you about the public transport times and tariff and instead keep suggesting about his or her cabs with exorbitant prices, sometimes more than your plane ticket. Nobody in the place is ready to tell about the distance to-be-travelled to reach neither a place nor the tariff, trust the ones who travelled before you or be all set to be looted.
