How to manage chaotic drone space from mobilejammer's blog

Small drones need UAV jammer to manage

Existing defenses are not equipped to deal with small drones, which are difficult to detect, identify and track, and which can be too numerous to stop. Jamming could be an obvious solution. Breaking the radio links between the operator and the drone, or confusing your GPS navigation, would cause a drone to crash or throw you off course. Six of the drones in the Syrian attack were shot down by such jamming signal, the others by firearms and missiles.

But Helios could be susceptible to the same trick, says Roland Smith, a plasma physicist at Imperial College London. "If it produces enough power to interrupt targeting, that makes it visible and a target unto itself," he says. "If the laser weapon knows it is jamming, it could affect the blocker."

Jammer-mart notes that throwing a lightweight blocker under a firearm allows a single operator to take down a drone by screwing it into place, and then knocking it down. Of course, although the Drone Sniper is shown attached to an inert clone of the M4 carbine, it is likely a better choice for the host rig in urban settings.

The problem, these companies say, is that regulations on the use of drones - and countering them - are still in their infancy. In countries like the United States and Australia, for example, drones are considered private property and can only be blocked by government agencies.

The company manufactures and provides anti-drug solutions to governments, as well as a range of security companies and private companies. Their systems are based on the concepts of Deter, Detect, Defeat and Determine. Unlike many of its competitors on the market, the Jammer-mart's Drone military jamming system is capable of interfering with a swarm of drones.

US troops are using a series of jammers, cannons and other devices to disrupt, disable or destroy enemy drones, often quadrupeds equipped with explosives. And the military has stepped up airstrikes against Islamic State drones on the ground, their launch sites and their operators.
